Project Summary
The Tanami Expansion project is an ongoing project. SCG has been fortunate to work closely with Batchcrete International to operate a mobile batching plant, supplying concrete across various areas at the granite gold mine run by Newmont. SCG has over 16 FIFO members of the team working closely on this project to provide quality services for our client, working hard to keep the concrete plant running around the clock, 24/7.
Project Challenges
The demand of projects in the mining and FIFO industry uncovered some challenges for SCG within the recruitment stages of the project. Ensuring we had the right members of our team was critical to continue to provide a professional and exceptional service to our client in a remote location.

- Senior management of SCG spent extensive amounts of time in the recruitment stages of the project, utilising team members in the HR department to adequately recruit committed and professional team members with great experience and knowledge to bring to the project.
- Continuous communications with the client and the SCG operators to work closely as a team to meet the needs of the client’s requests and provide exceptional service.
- Invest time training our operators onsite to better their skill set and knowledge in the FIFO industry.
